DIRECTOR
Mr. Bradley Leeb is the Director of Bands at Oswego East High School where he instructs the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Pep Band, Marching Band, and Jazz Ensemble. In addition, Mr. Leeb assists with Beginning Band at Bednarcik Junior High School as well as the 7th Grade Band. Mr. Leeb was formerly the Assistant Director of Bands at Oswego High School for three years. Prior to coming to Oswego, Mr. Leeb taught in the Effingham (IL) Community School District for three years, from 1998-2001 and was a part-time adjunct faculty member at Lakeland Community College in Effingham.
Mr. Leeb is a native of Skokie, IL and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While at the University of Illinois, Mr. Leeb was active in many different ensembles as he performed in concert bands, jazz bands, Marching Illini, Basketball Band, and pit orchestras. After completing his undergraduate degree, Mr. Leeb accepted a position as a Graduate Assistant with the Band Department at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. While at EIU, Mr. Leeb had the opportunity to conduct numerous ensembles in performance including the Wind Ensemble, University Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, and Flute Choir. In addition, Mr. Leeb also was a drill writer for the EIU Panther Marching Band. In 1998, Mr. Leeb was awarded a Master of Arts Degree in Conducting from that institution.
Along with his academic endeavors, Mr. Leeb has performed duties for numerous summer camps, including Bands of America, Smith-Walbridge Drum Major Academy, and Eastern Illinois Music Camps. He also served as a staff member for the 1997 Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Leeb has been nominated for inclusion in the 2004 edition of “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers”.
In his spare time, Mr. Leeb enjoys golfing, and bleeds Orange and Blue for his Fighting Illini sports teams, Silver and Blue for his Oswego East Wolves and EIU Panthers sports teams, and True Blue for his beloved Chicago Cubs. Mr. Leeb currently resides in Aurora, IL with his wife Christine and their two miniature schnauzers, Sophie and Wrigley.
